Self Esteem is the critical element in the foundation for success. Our self-esteem is the emotional and most important part of our character. It is the core of our inner power and the emotional component of our life. It is the single most important element determining our attitude and personality. It is the key to our success in both our business and personal lives.
Self-esteem is best defined as how much we like ourselves. The more we like, accept and respect ourselves as a valuable and worthwhile individual, the higher our self-esteem will be. The more we feel like we are an excellent human being, the more positive and happy we will be.
Self-esteem determines our level of energy, enthusiasm and motivation. Our level of self-esteem is the control valve on our performance and effectiveness. People with high levels self-esteem do well at everything they attempt.
Self-image, determines the way we perform in the present. Our self-image is the way we are now, today, this moment. Self-esteem is largely determined by the relationship between our self-image, how we are performing in our day to day activities, and our ideal person, the way we would perform if we were the very best person we could possibly be. Define the ideal person we want most to be, sometime in the future. This will help us determine the direction of our life, of our growth and evolution as a person.
The more our day to day activities are consistent with the person we want to become the higher is our self-esteem will be. If our ideal person is to be well organized, positive and working progressively toward the achievement of our goals, and we are behaving in a well organized, positive manner, working step by step toward our objectives, we will have a high and healthy level of self-esteem. Most importantly you will like and respect yourself and the more we like and respect ourselves, the better we will perform at everything we do. Also, we will feel confident, happy, healthy and more optimistic.
Put these ideas into action immediately! Think continually about your successes, the high points and your wins. The more you think about your best moments and experiences, the more you will like and respect yourself! Then repeat to these words, “I like myself! I like myself!” again and again throughout the day. These powerful words will make you feel happier and perform better.
Developing and maintaining high levels of self-esteem is the most important thing we can do in building ourselves to the point where we are capable of achieving all of our goals.
